I am listing my long term prerunner project up for sale. Please note that this truck currently needs to be finished from a rollover accident that took place in Glamis 2017. As of Jan 2021, the truck is running and driving again, with a whole new front suspension and components. It now needs to have the cab fixed for cosmetic reasons, painited, and it will be better than ever. I will try to be as descriptive and thorough as possible. I have literally thousands of pics, and hundreds of videos, documenting all stages of this build that I started in Nov of 2013. 1996 Ford F150 4x4 XLT. Power windows / locks, cruise control, functioning heat / ac, ect ect. I purchased it from my brother in 2013, and have done majority of the work since then.
5.8 EFI ford Windsor 351 block, stroked out to a 393. Motor was built by L&R racing engines in Santa Fe Springs Ca, and later tuned by Powertrain Dynamics in HB. Motor has less than 5,000 miles on it since rebuild. Edelbrock intake, BBK throttle body, pro comp aluminum heads, 27# injectors, comp cam, pacesetter headers, magnaflow muffler, solo motor mounts, aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and electric fuel pump on frame rail, Saginaw ps pump, ps cooler, external motor oil cooler. Truck dynoed 285hp and 360 torque to the rear tires. E4od trans with a shift kit, and external trans cooler with fan, along with a art carr shifter. Larger branco fuel tank installed, only ran 91 gas.
FRONT 4x4 TTB extended 2'' per side and moved forward 1'' per side to aid in firewall clearance. New radius arms built by KalilFab in Fullerton Ca made of 2'' .250 wall chromo with 1/8' plating. New swingset steering built by kalil as well. All new spindles rebuilt and double sheered by Desolate Motorsports in SFS. SwayAway 3.0 x 16'' coil over newly rebuilt and valved by Dialed Shock Prep.Powdercoated candy apple red springs. SAW 2.5'' bumpstops. The front diff needs to be regeared to match rear gears, and axles need to be extended to regain 4x4 capabilities. Front end is all brand new as of Jan 2021.
REAR "short coarse style" 4 link. Tig welded by Morgan Clarke Design. Lower links are 2'' .250 wall chromo with 1/8'' plating and have been chrome plated for looks. Upper links are 1.75'' chromo. Pulls a clean 22'' of travel. 18" SAW 3.0s with powdercoated springs, with 2'' SAW bump stops. Econoline housing, fully trussed and tabbed. 5:13 gears with a ratchet locker. Currie 31 spline axles. Ruffstuff disk brake conversion. Rear bed cage welded by Ryan Cook.
5 17'' Robby Gordon true beadlocks. 5 on 5.5 pattern. Sanded down and professionally polished, powdercoated beadlock rings. 5 37" BFG KRT "projects". I also have 2 PRT beadlocks as extras.
The entire truck is caged front to rear with 1.75'' .120 wall DOM tubing. 360 welded at any weld junction. A lot of time was taken to have the cage tight fitting inside for max room, yet also leaving all the interior panels completely intact and still feeling like a nice daily driver. The structural integrity of the cage was not affected in the roll over on sand. from inside the truck, you cannot tell anything at all happened. The cage of the truck is tied into the frame rails at over 16 points.
brand new headlights, marker lights, turn signals with led bulbs. 30'' led lightbar mounted in the front bumper that has been shorted height wise for a shorter profile. needs to be re chromed. brand new 6'' front glass from McNeil Racing. Rear bedsides are color matched 4''. multiple red leds underneath the truck. Factory tailgate fully functional with dimple died trim panel. Removable roof rack built to house 4 Hella HIDS. The hella lights have been powdercoated black with red rings, hids are from 55w units.
I do have a full intact extra cab that will be good for parts to fix this cab. the wrecked cab needs new doors installed, and obviously a new roof skinned on.
INTERIOR once again fully caged with dozens of tie ins to factory cab. removable "sub floor". 3 full size bucket seats with 5 point harnesses. fits 3 size adults pretty comfortably. led lighting throughout. custom center console that houses the art carr shifter and various operational switches. all factory ducting was kept intact to keep ac and heat system functional. Bluetooth stereo, upgraded speakers, storage bags built into cage.
I built this truck for myself. To keep forever. I built it to be a serious prerunner / weekend play truck, but still be nice enough to take on a date and valet park it. Any time I redid or a upgraded a part, when applicable I would powdercoat / chrome / or polish it. All major component bolts are fine thread and properly shanked. When inside, you tend to forget you are in a very capable off road truck. Its comfortable, quiet enough, and has zero ticking from bypass shocks rattling throughout the cage work. This truck got compliments everywhere it went, pre rollover of coarse, for its cleanliness. And more importantly, this truck HANDLES. Myself and Dialed Shock Prep spent countless hours, pulling the shocks at least 2 dozen times over the years, to truly get this truck woking to the best of its capabilities, and showcasing what a "non bypass" truck is really capable of. This truck impressed every single person who ever road in it.
After the crash, I did lose some motivation to put it back together. And in July of 2020 I moved to Texas where I wouldn't use the truck anyways. Its time for me to move on, and hope that a new owner is out there who can finish of the rebuild of this awesome truck, and make it their own and bring "CLIFFORD" back to its original glory.
With a roof swap, doors swap, a full paint job, and a little TLC, you can have a very serious luxurious prerunner / play truck, for much cheaper than it would cost to build. The truck is currently located in Bell Gardens Ca, and can be shown by appointment. I live in Texas but I can schedule to have my dad show the truck. It runs and drives, but it will need a front end alignment and a front end bolt check before I would recommend and serious off roading be done. I am asking $30,000 obo as it sits today. with a roof swap and new paint, you would have a 45-50k pre runner, in my opinion, for a fraction of the cost. I am a motivated seller as it kills me to know this truck is just sitting around getting dusty. I have a clean Texas title for it in hand.
